Cedric Williams Vice President, Complex Construction, Project Management & Resource Planning (Gas), National Grid
Cedric started his career in the gas industry with Southern California Gas Company in 1989 after four years of service in the United States Marine Corps. While finishing his Engineering degree, he held represented field jobs in Distribution Construction and Instrumentation & Regulation and moved into management in 1996. Over the next 10 years, Cedric took on supervisory and managerial roles in Dispatch, Logistics, Business Planning & Budgets, Project Management, and Operations while completing an MBA in Operations Management. He leveraged these opportunities and his education to become Director of Gas Control, Gas Scheduling and Transmission System Planning in 2009. The following year Cedric took on the role of Regional Director, responsible for Distribution operations, Customer Services operations, Resource Management, and Engineering & Planning in a region serving 1.2 million customers with a team of 800 employees. In January of 2014, he became head of Labor Relations at Southern California Gas and its 5000 Union employees.
In July of 2014, Cedric and his family made the decision to move to the east coast to pursue a promotional opportunity as Vice President responsible for Gas Project Management, Gas Complex Construction and Gas Resource Planning at National Grid in Waltham, Massachusetts. He now lives with his wife and son in Hopkinton, MA.
